Morning Garden (Infant & Toddler Program)
A place for you to grow with your child (0 to 30 months)
WSA's Morning Garden program offers an opportunity for families to be part of a small community with children of similar ages. Guided by an experienced Waldorf Early Childhood educator, Jolie Luba, families share this time together while observing the children’s development. A parent, family member, or caregiver will accompany the child to the session.

MORNING GARDEN ADULT-TODDLER - an outdoor experience in Decatur
If your child is a toddler, come join us in a rhythmic morning of songs, movement, play, handwork, snack, and conversation. As your child learns to walk and free their hands, their speech begins to emerge and with that a richer social life. Time for us, caregivers, to expand our observation including not only how the children move in space, but also how they greet, talk, interact, imitate, and participate in group settings like snack and circle time. The group builds a sense of "we."
Morning Garden classes for toddlers are being held outdoors at a public park in Decatur. While learning to socialize, young children will also have an opportunity to experience and enjoy the seasons of the year. Adults will work on simple crafts, while conversing on topics brought by the teacher, including developmental phases of childhood and how parenting offers a chance for self-reflection.
A cooked grain will be offered by the teacher as a snack and each family is welcome to bring some fruit or vegetable to add. The meal will be served while the families are seated on their picnic blankets and the park has a pavilion in case of rain. More details will be provided either by email or at an orientation meeting.
GROUPS:
WSA will work with families to determine the best day for each child. To help with this process, please indicate on the application all of the weekdays (Wednesdays or Thursdays) you are available to participate in the program.
